Today, let’s pretend I’m a scared young girl in 400level who has just decided to enter into Islam.
It had been months after my constant study of Islam and all the other aspects of it. I was certain that Islam was worth trying. However, I was terrified that my parents would not be able to handle it.
This led me to keep postponing my acceptance of Islam and I did this with the belief that I could just accept Islam later when I was done with school and I had a job. How shortsighted and ridiculous!
I also had a few modelling shoots and I had some parties I was looking forward to. I knew that those did not fit into my plan for the life that I would have as a Muslim. I knew I would lose my friends. I knew I would lose my social status. It was worrying for me.
We were in Abdul Ajia’s car when he said “ There’s no obedience to the creation in disobedience to the creator”. His conviction in Islam was so strong and this message from him inspired me to choose Allah over all these humans that Allah created.
That conversation happened in October 2017. By January 2018, I was Muslim. Alhamdulillah.
My lifestyle tip for you today is to weigh everything around you against the will of Allah AND the promise of Allah. Once you start doing that, everything else is easy, in shaa Allah.
E.g:
My desire is to sell birthday cakes, vapes, shisha, bongs, kayanmata, etc. I am afraid that if I don’t do this highly profitable business, I will be poor and unable to feed.
What is Allah’s will and promise on this?
In the Qur’an:
{And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.
I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.
Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength} [adh-Dhaariyaat 51:56-58]
Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
{And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised} [adh-Dhaariyaat 51:22]
{And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah} [an-Nahl 16:53].
{And there is no creature on earth but its provision is due from Allah} [Hood 11:6]
He has made some items impermissible but even if you get money from doing them, that is still your provision. You would have gotten that same provision if you did a halal business. So… remember that.
Don’t think for a second that anything you do can change the provision that Ar Razzaq has willed for you. Just believe your Rizq comes from him and seek it in a halal way.
Love you liLLAHI
